 Hey there,

 Welcome to WordPress Trac!

 One of the great strengths of WordPress is its huge ecosystem with
 thousands of plugins and themes. For example, there's a plugin called
 [https://wordpress.org/plugins/revision-notes/ Revision Notes] which aims
 to solve what you're describing.

 As such a feature is mostly useful for group blogs with multiple editors,
 and most WordPress sites being single-user installs, I think it's fine to
 keep it plugin territory.
