 This is a good revert!  Leaving the tests in place, while preventing the
 regression seems reasonable to me.  I would like to engage further in the
 discussion about the new conditionals, which I do believe are valuable,
 but I'm glad to see the issue addressed in 4.7.1.  Thank you for your
 attention, @peterwilsoncc. You can expect a ping from me in the near
 future ;)
