 I agree - my PoC is very sub-optimal. Patching the wp_mail() function to
 handle multipart emails directly should make developers lives easier,
 account for sub-optimal use of wp_mail() and perhaps increase
 deliverability too.

 Any chance of getting this in the 4.7.x branch at some point?
