 This is higly problematic. It highlights what most of us fear. That
 security is down prioritized and making more features and keeping BC
 upvoted.

 Security should and must comes first. Wordpress is a large entity and
 should own up to the responsibility of having such large of an attack
 surface.

 Use the next many major releases on security and bugs only (the whole year
 for what I care) could remedy this and start rebuilding the trust.
