 FYI, the javascript problem seems fixed. I changed the language selection
 in my backend from "Espanol (Espana)" to "Espanol" and it did the trick.
 Bummer that I didn't try that earlier! more so when it was one of the main
 pieces of advice I got but the backend interface hides the code associated
 to the language selection and I wasn't aware the change would make a
 difference.

 All seems fine now. Thanks for all the help.
