What official source do we use for grammar, punctuation, etc? I think it's
very common to use install in place of installation. I can't find any
"official" dictionary that has it listed as a noun, but Wikitionary.com
lists it as an informal noun. On the flip side, "official" dictionaries
have "doh" defined by influence of the TV show The Simpsons, so its hard
to take them seriously.
Having said that, I don't really care which version of the word is used,
but I do think consistency is important. I'm still curious what sources we
use to make these decisions though.
