Comment:

 A few notes on the first patches:

 * The old version needs to be fetched before any update happens, otherwise
 it's just the new version
 * The upgrader object holds the theme info, not the upgrader skin
 (`$upgrader->theme_info()` method)

 [attachment:40764.2.diff] addresses this.
