 I just had an idea. The _pingme meta key is automatically added to any
 post that is published/updated and we're already using that to generate a
 list of IDs...as that idea seems to be a good one.

 All pingbacks add the URLs they send to the pinged field. So, there should
 be a way to get some resource savings by only looking at those posts for
 trackback sending. But that requires some more substantial changes.
