Comment:

 What is left here after [37668] for #36585, which solved the fast typing
 problem? The issue with the accent grave seems to be the same as when
 there is already a backspace in the text, so I'm thinking of closing this
 as a duplicate of #37693.

 In any case, the patch would need a refresh.
