 For those of you who do not want to click through the link, here's the
 summary:

 As there is no "hard" leadership that just takes decisions on more
 progressive topics, there's often a magical "majority" being referenced as
 the argument for keeping the status quo. For this to be meaningful in
 resolving a discussion, there needs to be a tool to fill this "majority"
 argument with statistically conclusive data, otherwise it is just the
 opinion of a select few.
