 I am doing it directly to the media library and yes I know, but it is
 supossed to be fixed by the platform like any other site (automatically
 change spaces for - or _) and I don't remember having this issue before (I
 have been using WP in different sites for some years now).

 And like I said before, it will happen also if you put a name without
 spaces but using some numbers like img_160x160.jpg or .png
