 Thank you for the feedback, this is exactly what I was looking for and why
 I marked this ticket as a candidate for being closed without actually
 closing it.

 I did some more testing and it looks like MailChimp's campaign builder
 previews do indeed still suffer from this issue unfortunately, but the
 browser previews that users see (like the one you posted a link to) do not
 suffer from this problem.

 Looking into the case you linked to however, is showing that the images in
 your preview aren't displaying because they don't actually exist on your
 server (i.e., 404 errors) rather than mixed content errors due to trying
 to server HTTP resources in an HTTPS context.
