 @adamsilverstein I am interested in your thoughts around the
 `wp_dashboard_recent_drafts()` function.  Looking at
 [attachment:38342-4.diff] the echoing output here seems out of place in a
 php function.  Any concern about the back-compat break of losing the
 `'dashboard_recent_drafts_query_args'` filter?
