 @joemcgill I think the function renaming is headed in the right direction.
 Using `html` in the function name feels weird to me. But I think it's more
 important to not break any expectations with the function naming, which we
 were doing as you pointed out, and instead figure out the best way to do
 this now. It feels better now than before for sure.
