Comment (by desmith):

 This patch combines @jesin's "replace it in a bunch of spots" and
 @mensmaximus's "add a new function for this" techniques. I omitted the
 parameters for get_current_domain() because there's only one current
 domain at any given time. First patch, probably did everything wrong, et
 cetera.
