 @websupporter
 In testing your [attachment:36901.3.diff] because the `check_comment`
 action was still running `check_comment_flood_db` the
 `wp_check_comment_flood()` function was running twice.  I removed the
 action hook in [attachment:36901.4.diff] and included some minor doc fixes
 as well.

 Can you give the latest patch a sanity check to make sure I didn't miss
 anything?
