Comment:

 Closing as one problem was addressed in #36585, and the other is being
 addressed in #37693.

 For keyboards that also use the key for accents, pressing space afterwards
 will not combine it with another character. I believe that's just how it
 works. I used to have a Belgian keyboard that worked like this.

 Please test and reopen if there are still issues.
