 After some discussion about the recent gif on Slack there were two points
 made that could be explored further.

 1. Should new items that are being added also get added to the menu
 automatically? Or should this be a two step process where I would add the
 item to the list first, then move it over to the menu?

 2. How and where do new items show in the list above the input field?
 Right now there doesn't seem to be any immediate feedback to the user that
 the item was successfully added to the list.
