 Just a thought, and something I ran into, sounds like it may be having
 trouble discovering the oembed links? Are you sure your server can be
 contacted? You could try a quick echo esc_html( $html ); exit(); on line
 365 of /wp-includes/class-oembed.php and then navigate to a page with the
 embedded post in it and see if it outputs the embedded posts html.
