 Have any plugins with custom updaters reported breakage with this change?
 If not, I think we can mark it fixed and @dd32 can continue any work in
 future work on the plugins update API in future tickets.

 cc/ @mordauk @carlhancock as I know that both of them have custom
 updaters.
