 I don't seem to have found this in testing. @obenland was there a change
 made?

 It feels a lot to ask for themers to have to add that code to every theme
 in order for site logos to work correctly. I'm not really keen on how much
 we're expecting people to add to a theme to support this. It feels like it
 will with each thing get used less. On top of that, it's not something
 other features have asked.
