 I'm currently using a workaround in our plugin to improve the speed of
 retrieving the last autosave.

 (I copied the wp_get_post_autosave function and adjusted it to use the
 "$post[ID]-autosave-v1" as post_name in the args of
 wp_get_post_revisions.)
