 Well, took just over an hour to find something wrong :) It looks like the
 fallback auth callback doesn't get applied for the old registration method
 anymore (I could be wrong, also this needs a test), and I think the logic
 could be easier to follow. I will likely commit in the near future, but in
 the meantime, an eye on [attachment:35658.19.diff] would be great.
