 I am going to defer to anyone who actually still uses XML-RPC. A lot of
 these methods didn't/still don't have exhaustive unit tests, so I think we
 should do whatever causes the least amount of harm. If we revert, let's
 also keep this ticket open, fix the underlying issues, and fill out the
 unit tests.
