Comment:

 [attachment:9568.12.diff] is a new patch which simplifies the logic inside
 `wp_authenticate_email_password()` and greatly improves the error messages
 after having been recently improved in
 `wp_authenticate_username_password()`.

 I think that's it. @ocean90 wanna do some final review?
