Comment:

 I just found out about this ticket a little while ago and I have a
 SIGNIFICANT problem with the amount of personal and detailed information
 about my blog and my users being relayed back to Automattic. I manage 50
 some-odd Wordpress sites, all on private hosting, and '''this is
 unacceptable'''.

 I'm hoping this can be fixed with a Plugin to strip out this data if WP
 core refuses to take this out (or at the very least make this optional).

 Drupal is suddenly looking like a much better alternative.
