 Thanks for all the replies!
 I did a fresh install and checked again,
 and found out, that it is working fine if there is a blank line before and
 after the {{{<hr/>}}},
 but is creating malformed HTML when they are missing. Additionally, the
 output changed slightly:

 This is created for the front-end and applies to the wordpress "native"
