Cool. Can you add a screenshot for the changes? I'm not sure I get what
these entail. :)

They're a different case since it's one button at a time instead of a list
of them. And they're also auto-focused, so the style can't be distracting.
Maybe something like gray on focus and blue on hover could help, for
whatever the visual marker ends up being?
I think that's a separate issue: the initial state of the X button is
causing a lot of troubles, and we should fix it not being auto-selected on
open. There's a ticket for that in #33228 that I think should have
priority and land before this one.
Having finally the X not auto-selected would allow to have clearer,
sharper styles and would stop forcing us to find a balance between active
state visibility and too much visibility that is limiting for both the
goals we are trying to achieve.
Once #33228 lands, we can then proceed with a proper highlight state. :)
