Comment:

 @jdgrimes thank you for that information. How does
 [attachment:28216.8.fallback.diff] look for providing a fallback in the
 case where `spl_object_hash()` is not available? It takes a somewhat
 similar approach as `_wp_filter_build_unique_id()`.
