 In my tests I was also experiencing this with tiny images in the sub 100K
 size, in fact I tried with 14KB JPG and it throws an HTTP Error almost
 instantly not after exhausting CPU or available memory. I concede that the
 OpenMP being available on servers where it shouldn't be is a problem and
 I'd hate for folks to not be able to take legitimate advantage of multi-
 threading if available.
