 JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver do. VoiceOver needs the Control-Option-Space
 combination that is standard for buttons.

 It is possible already, for technologies that understand ARIA. My concern
 here is while ARIA works only for assistive technologies users, that
 JavaScript bit will work for all users and basically it will alter the
 standard interaction with links for users that don't use AT.
