 Particularly in the case when a user clicks the "Featured Image" button, I
 can't think of any reason they'd ever expect not to get "uploaded to this
 post" as the default.

 I just spent ages going through a media-heavy blog assigning featured
 images and it took MUCH longer than it should have because of default
 behavior. Yes there's a Default Media Uploader plugin now, but I shouldn't
 have to figure that out halfway through because this shouldn't be the
 default.
