 #34234 was opened to discuss renaming `$id` in `the_permalink()`,
 `get_the_permalink()`, and `get_permalink()` to `$post`. The ticket will
 also address @chriscct7's suggested [attachment:23882.3.patch] for adding
 the parameter to the filter.
