 Wouldn't that be the same issue though? If you have 20 comments, all with
 long parents (say 200 words, which is not outside the realm of
 possibility), it would have to load all that before the comment page
 loads.

 Basically the issue is that 20 comments with 20 parents means 40 comments
 loaded on a page.
