 Some things here:

 * Let's please look at existing, stress-tested plugins like those offered
 by @peterchester and @bradyvercher. We can come up with core-ideal UI,
 that's fine, but they've got working code and can be trusted. We don't
 need to reinvent wheels all the time.
 * Regarding media besides images, shortcodes don't work in widgets, see
 #10457.
 * @Stagger Lee: please stop spamming tickets and Make/Core threads with
 unrelated and non-constructive comments.
