 I used W3C Markup validator to check if my markup has any mess with it and
 it reported:

 No space between attributes.
 ...<a class="items"'''h'''ref="http://...

 That is how my markup renders in google chrome 42.0.3 on windows 8.1
 (using inspector).

 so I had a look at wp-includes/nav-menu-template.php file under line 144
 where the markup is generated but I did not find the problem.
