Comment:

 The problem with bbPress's implementation it it scales badly when you have
 > 3 roles for a user. On the other hand, we can keep it simple in core and
 just list all roles in the existing role column and if a plugin like
 bbPress wants a specialized column it could continue to do so (perhaps
 using a filter to remove its' role from the overall Role(s) list.
