 Thanks for the suggestion. The Menu Customizer feature-plugin
 (http://wordpress.org/plugins/menu-customizer/), currently targeting core
 merge in WordPress 4.3, has this feature as part of a dual bulk add/delete
 mode. Could definitely be useful for widgets as well, although I'm not
 sure exactly what that UI might look like. It probably wouldn't work very
 well to have a delete button so easily accessible next to the button to
 expand the controls.
