Comment (by stephdau):

 Adding the size check to the app's JS, instead of its bookmarklet, would
 also have the major advantage of applying that logic to images found when
 we fetch the source via PHP instead of on the client-side, which is
 currently not the case, since can't be done efficiently on the server-
 side. It'd standardize the experiences.
