Dear WordPress developerS,
I used WordPress for 8 years on Yahoo Small Business hosting, until last
month, when they failed to support WP's new encryption standard (SHA),
which WordPress 4.1.1 requires. I now use BlueHost,at
www.peterhgreen.com., I have Windows 8.1 on a 64-bit machine.
I have successfully employed WordPress v.4.1.0 for for my blog posts and
web pages with the Tempera theme for over a year, using WordPress v.
4.1.0.
I have been trying to solve this one for a week. No matter what remedy I
try, I cannot get the full posts to display on a separate page somewhere.
They are all truncated, with a Continue Reading button, even though I have
specified that the full text show up in four different places:
1) on the Settings/Reading screen
2) on the Appearance/Tempera settings/Post excerpts screen
3) on the Appearance/Tempera Settings/show posts on Presentation
screen,/"Enable."
4) on the Menu screen, where I have a page named "Blog". When I choose
"Show posts on a static page called Blog," instead of on the Presentation
page, I still get truncated posts, and the Continuation button gets me to
a blank page called Author Peter Green without any post on it at all.
Disabling all plug-ins has no different effect, and activating Twenty
Fifteen, the default theme, produces the same result. I did not have this
problem in WordPress 4.1.0, but I have it in 4.1.1 with two different
themes. While there may be a simple remedy, it is not apparent to me, and
I have been searching your menus and those of the Tempera theme all week
and have been been unable to discover it. Someone else on the forums
thinks it is a bug, and I agree, it may be a possible bug in the newly
revised WordPress program. I am totally stumped and I need to get on with
my website restoration, after some other unfortunate mistakes caused by a
Yahoo technician. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for all your hard work to make WordPress great. Peter Green
