 For @skindfs' issue, I need to note that the bugs initially identified as
 part of this thread are resolved... the issue is specific to running
 Wordpress MultiSite on a cPanel system (shared hosting, which is never
 really a good idea, since you need to be able to control DNS and Apache
 configs).
