 I thin Nacin's point is that it's cleaner to keep the dependency than to
 enqueue the script separately in each file where it might be needed (as
 demonstrated by the patch).

 If the goal is to disable Open Sans, re-registering it with an empty URL
 works fine and seems like the way to go.
