 In [attachment:30988.diff]:

  * Add `$default` param to `WP_Customize_Manager::post_value()` (and add
 protected `WP_Customize_Manager::parse_post_data()` method)
  * Update `WP_Customize_Setting::_preview_filter()` to use original or
 default value if no `post_value` supplied for setting
