 I think we considered that. Even then, there were some other reasons not
 do do it. Would have to dig a bit through conversations to find these. I
 think another one was that the admin bar is a good point of reference for
 the user (available anywhere in the admin). Leaving it there might make
 them less confused. But this was when we were considering enabling this by
 default. :)
 Also, since the menu slides, it would make sense for the bar to slide too,
 instead of changing the color from blackish to whitish.

 Maybe worth discussing again, in a separate ticket. It could look
 "cleaner" with the black bar gone, but not sure if it makes a huge
 difference.
