 Maybe that would be ok if the ''empty'' mime type was allowed?

 Is that even possible? I searched the two RFC documents for "empty" but
 didn't got any match ;-)

 But if not, then I guess we could use the {{{esc_attr()}}} function as
 suggested ;-)

 ps: I first thought of introducing something like
 {{{sanitize_mime_types()}}} to sanitize multiple mime types, but I think
 that's too much.
