 I can reproduce this on my Wordpress, I also see old _wp_old_slug problem
 as described by bobbingwide. This patch doesn't help.

 I ran bisect on commits and the commit that introduced this problem seems
 to be @34659 - for ticket #33920. Before that, the redirect doesn't
 happen.
