 Reading the forum post, I'm not sure I fully understand the issue.

 Actually, there is: move focus to the "Visual" or "Text" buttons and press
 Enter

 Maybe you mean you would like the caret position to be in a consistent
 place (i.e. where you placed it) when switching editors? I ''think'' it's
 a bit hard to implement this but there are people who can answer far
