 I'm really disinclined to make any enhancements to this screen, as I'd
 like for its current incarnation to go away in the near future (see
 #32398). Is there any reason you're not using the media library's grid
 view for this? You can drag-and-drop upload anywhere on that screen, or
 use the add new button which gives you an inline upload form. From there
 you can go into the details modal and the URL field is there.
