 Thanks for the bug report, @thehrisworld!

 `wp_json_encode()` (and related functions) haven't changed since it was
 introduced in WordPress 4.1, so presumably this behaviour is being caused
 by something further up the call stack.

 Please let us know if you're able to reproduce this behaviour in your test
 environment.
