 @brentjett while I agree that it would be great to get plugin and theme
 meta data out of random css and php files, I'm not sure how it directly
 relates to a templating engine being integrated.

 There is some very good discussion that happened about meta data being
 moved to JSON over here: https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/24152
